Values, Principles and Common Language

Overview

To implement the HCBS settings requirements in the spirit and manner intended, providers need to assess their organization’s values, principles and culture. The actions of direct support professionals, including how they speak to and about individuals supported, are a reflection of values and culture.

As a provider, you should use the HCBS Toolkit resources on values, principles and common language to support the holistic incorporation of the HCBS settings requirements into the culture of your organization.
