Choose the Plan That's Right for You and Your Baby
Once you apply and receive an official notice of enrollment from Virginia, including a Medicaid card, it’s time to select your health plan. A health plan is managed by a private insurance company with a network of doctors and other medical providers working together to give you comprehensive health care. This may also be referred to as a Managed Care Organization, or MCO.
What to Expect on Your First Prenatal Visit
It’s important to schedule a visit to the doctor as soon as you know that you are pregnant. Common first-time visits to the doctor often include questions regarding your medical history, along with initial tests and planning.
Support Your Family With Your Coverage
If you are enrolled in the FAMIS MOMS program, your baby will automatically be eligible for health insurance for the first year of life. Report the birth of your child to Cover Virginia to start coverage and protect your child’s future.
Use Adult Preventive Services Today
Did you know that all adult Virginia Medicaid members have coverage for preventive services such as screenings, check-ups and counseling support? These services can help keep you healthy, and identify areas for improvement before they become an issue.
