Specialty Providers Are Available if You Need Them
Your primary care provider (PCP) will give you regular check-ups and cover your basic health care needs, including many preventive and wellness services.
However, you may have specific health questions that need treatment from doctors trained in a particular area. These health care experts are called specialty providers. Your PCP will let you know if you need to see a specialty provider. Visits to specialty providers are covered by Medicaid. Under some health care plans, your PCP may need to give you an official referral.
