Important COVID-19 Vaccine Update: Booster Shots Are Now Available for Children Ages 16 and 17

The FDA has approved COVID-19 booster shots for all children age 16 and older. All children ages 16 and older can now receive a booster shot to help keep them protected from COVID-19. 

Unvaccinated Virginians are 4 times more likely to develop COVID-19 than those who are fully vaccinated. Getting your children vaccinated will help make sure they are safe when they are at school, during extracurricular activities, and when visiting family.  

Use Virginia’s vaccine finder tool to find a vaccine location near you. Many vaccine locations accept walk-ins and have evening and weekend hours, making it easy for you to make sure your children can get a shot. Medicaid also offers  transportation if you need a ride to your appointment.
