High-Quality Care is Important to a Child's Success
High-quality child care programs are linked to greater achievement and success in a child’s life. They are also necessary for many Virginia families in which parents or guardians work during the day. ChildCareVA has a search tool and resources to help you find the child care that is right for your family. For additional help finding care, call Child Care Aware of Virginia at 866-543-7852.
Need help paying for child care? Virginia’s Child Care Subsidy Program provides financial assistance to low-income, eligible families to help pay a portion of child care costs so families can work or participate in education programs. If you are eligible, the Subsidy Program may pay a portion of your child care costs directly to the child care provider.
Virginians can easily check their eligibility or apply online for help with child care, health care and more using the CommonHelp application. You can also apply in person at a local DSS office.
Virginia Medicaid is always accepting applications. Click here to learn if you are eligible for Medicaid/FAMIS health insurance.
