Overview of Cardinal Care Managed Care

Cardinal Care Managed Care combined Virginia’s two existing managed care programs – Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus (CCC Plus) and Medallion 4.0 – into one managed care program on October 1, 2023. Cardinal Care Managed Care will continue to partner with the same MCOs administering these programs and will still cover the full scope of Medicaid managed care services. Introducing Cardinal Care

Virginia rebranded as Cardinal Care in January 2023. Cardinal Care encompasses all health coverage programs, including Medicaid, Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS), and Plan First, as well as managed care and fee-for-service delivery systems.
