Virginia's Medicaid Managed Care Programs

Overview

In Virginia's Medicaid Managed Care program, you are a member of a Managed Care Organization (MCO). An MCO is a health plan with a group of doctors and other providers working together to give health services to its members. Your MCO will cover all Medicaid services you get now, including doctor visits, behavioral health services, nursing facility services and “waiver” services for community-based long term care. All MCOs meet Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements.

New Enrollment Website and Helpline

Starting June 1, Medicaid members enrolled in Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus (CCC Plus) and Medallion 4.0 will use VirginiaManagedCare.com to choose a health plan, learn about benefits, and find in-network providers. The new Enrollment Helpline is 1-800-643-2273 (TTY: 1-800-817-6608). The Helpline hours are the same: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 6 pm. Members will be re-directed automatically during this transition.

CCC Plus

Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus (CCC Plus) is for Medicaid-eligible adults who are 65 or older, children or adults with disabilities, nursing facility residents, and those receiving long-term services and supports.

Medallion 4.0

Medallion 4.0 is Virginia’s Medicaid program for infants, children, pregnant women and adults in low-income families with children.
