Chris Gordon

Chris Gordon has served as DMAS’ Deputy for Finance and Chief Financial Officer since 2019, overseeing an annual budget exceeding $23 billion that comprises 20% of the state’s total annual operating budget.  He has 21 years of experience in Virginia state and local government, with the past 10 years in executive leadership roles.  He supports five Finance teams including Budget, Federal Reporting, Fiscal, Procurement and Contract Management, and Provider Rate Development.  Chris holds four degrees from the College of William & Mary: Master of Science in Business Analytics, Masters of Business Administration, Masters in Biology, and Bachelor’s of Science in Biology.   He is certified as a Project Management Professional, Certified Government Financial Manager, Senior Certified Human Resource Professional, and Virginia Contract Officer.
