Prenatal Coverage May be Available for You and Your Baby

FAMIS Prenatal Coverage is a full coverage program for pregnant individuals who do not meet immigration status rules for other coverage. You do not need to meet immigration status rules, provide immigration documents, or have a Social Security number in order to be eligible for FAMIS Prenatal Coverage. However, you do need to meet the income rules.

The FDA has approved the COVID-19 vaccine for children 6 months and older. You can now protect your youngest children from serious illness or hospital stays due to COVID-19. 


Specialty Providers Are Available if You Need Them

Your primary care provider (PCP) will give you regular check-ups and cover your basic health care needs, including many preventive and wellness services.


Get the Prescriptions and Equipment You Need

When you visit your primary care provider (PCP), you may receive a prescription medication, if necessary. Prescriptions or scripts allow you to get the medicine or medical equipment that has been approved by your doctor.


Open Enrollment Season Begins This Month

Having a health care plan that meets your needs is important. Some Medallion members are now able to choose their health plan for the year ahead.


Dental Health is Important to Overall Wellness

All Medicaid members with full benefits have access to dental services through their Medicaid coverage. During an appointment, your dentist or dental hygienist may clean your teeth, take X-rays and check your gums to understand your overall dental health.

Virginia Medicaid will soon return to our normal enrollment process for health care coverage, and we need your help to spread the word. All Medicaid members need to update their contact information so they continue to receive high quality health care coverage.
